- Seattle Sounders Marching Band From the city which spawned grunge music and the sounds of Quincy Jones to Jimi Hendrix, comes the Sounders FC Sound Wave. Sound Wave is the official band of the Seattle Sounders FC and is the brainchild of Sounders FC owner Drew Carey. The 53-person ensemble is made up of traditional marching percussion and brass instruments, bringing the Sounders FC passion to life. The Sound Wave plays custom arrangements from all types of music including Latin, funk, big band, pop and rock.
The Sound Wave invites Sounders FC Supporters and fans to join them 45-minutes before kickoff of each home match at Occidental Park in historic Pioneer Square for a pre-match rally and to participate in the "March to the Match." Cascade Youth Symphony consists of five groups which have regular rehearsals, sectionals, coaching sessions, and concerts during the academic year and week-long day camps that meet in the summer. Currently, we need snare, tenor, bass, and cymbal players.
The style of music we play is mostly derived from HBCU southern style cadences. We play a few from the movie Drumline. We also play Taiko, Nagara, samba and more.
Practices are Sunday and Wednesday nights and last approx. 2 hrs
We are gearing up for a string of shows all over the region, and we are planning a tour to Europe next Summer to play at the Tour De France.
